This proposal did not pass onchain governance vote last week as it did not receive enough votes to meet quorum. One of the major stakeholders who was in support of the proposal was unable to vote due to personal circumstances. Although there were some contentious disagreements on the budget, we’d like to make a motion to resubmit the proposal to be given a fair chance to gauge community support now that all major stakeholders are available to participate in a vote.
After discussions with various stakeholders over the weekend, we would like to try to resubmit the proposal onchain (pending community approval) via an emergency vote this week. It is critical for us to have a definitive answer on this proposal now rather than wait until the next cycle as we are relying on this funding to support planned work. Now that all stakeholders are available to participate in the vote, we feel confident that we will be able to get the missing votes needed to a) meet quorum and b) receive majority support for our proposal if we are able to resubmit it.
There is currently no official process for an “emergency vote” like this in place, but we’ve been advised by the Governance Committee to use a Discourse poll to gauge support from the community on whether or not to resubmit the proposal to an onchain vote this week.
Please respond to the poll by Thursday (April 4th) 12:00pm CET to signal feelings towards resubmitting the proposal onchain outside of the regular cycle.
- Yes, I support resubmitting this proposal onchain outside of the regular cycle schedule
- No, I do not support resubmitting this proposal onchain outside of the regular cycle schedule
This poll has to receive a simple majority of in-support votes in order to pass. If this poll passes, I will resubmit (with the support of the Governance Committee) the proposal onchain by Thursday EOD.
