Good evening,
I came across Radicle via RAD but really loved the idea behind a decentralised opensource code platform to rival some of the bigger players in the market. I’m not a developer by any stretch of the imagination, in fact I couldn’t code anything to save my life and I am most certainly not a designer so feel free to discard the following.
I’d also like to preface this with, I personally like the aesthetic but I wonder if the large titles with gradients and gifs are the right decision for your opening pitch to entice new users/ contributors.
I initially viewed the site on a smart phone and it reminded me of sites from the 90s (not necessarily a bad thing ) but I can imagine it might turn people away before even getting their foot in the door.
I understand the want to standout from the crowd and I’m not saying there isn’t a place for gifs and text gradients but having worked around a lot of embittered corporate programmers who have the power to sway decisions, I know many of them wouldn’t stick around to read what you have to offer which would be a real shame as many of them would share the same values.
Best of luck with project and maybe I’ll develop enough skills to use your platform in the coming years.
