Project Overview
Overview
Please provide the following:
Widelens is a space where the community can educate, explore, and connect with each other. Striving to be the facebook of Web3.
A decentralized application where users can monitor NFT transactions of ETH Addresses they follow (Contracts and Wallets) which will simulate twitter feed type timeline of all the addresses they are following. Users will be able to explore upcoming/past NFT collections and educate themselves about them based on their transaction’s stats and collection profile. In addition, widelens offers a portfolio manager for users with accounts.
An indication of why your team is interested in creating this project.
We believe widelens is the bridge that connects people who aren’t Web3 savvy to Web3 world by introducing a UI/UX experience simliar to the applications that they use daily.

Additional Information
We have finished Milestone 1 and are in 50% through milestone 2.
The main functionality for the homepage is to see the most recent NFT transactions on ETH blockchain, a table of the top 10 highest traded NFTs per volume on Opensea for the day, and the most trending NFT Collection of the day.
3.b Explore
The main functionality of the explore page will have a more detailed version of the most trending NFT collection of the day, users will be able to follow NFT Collections, and be able to find NFT collections.
3.c Activity
The activity page will contain a feed like timeline of NFT Transactions from the ETH addresses and NFT Collections you follow.
3.d Profile
The main functionality of the profile page will be to see your own NFT transactions, see your own NFTs that you have collected, and to showcase certain NFTs in your collection.
The MVP for Widelens will be
Follow System where you can follow ETH Addresses and NFT Collections

For post MVP we do have a lot features we would like to add such as
This seems pretty similar to the grant below, which we did not approve:
Basically creating an NFT aggregator / market place. We have seen several applications and inquiries about grants for this type of work, and in all case we have rejected them. So I think it’s safe to say we’re building an organic policy around rejecting such grants.
Can you please explain how this grant work would add to any of the following?
Thanks for the response, and I can see how at first glance our application can seem like an NFT aggregator/marketplace, given some features it has.
However, Widelens purpose is to be a social application where people can follow other addresses and stay up to date with what they do, as well as monitor their own address. The other features are just convenience.
It’s open source in the way that anyone who has heard about NFT’s can use the site to follow their friends or other people (famous perhaps) to see what they are doing on the blockchain. It’s a low entry app so newbies and veterans can share a space together. Our goal is to build a space where Web3 enthusiasts/learners can spend most of their time rather than in multiple applications. A new decentralized home.
I don’t see how this is bringing value to open source workflows
It doesn’t include any sort of value-add - either through integrating with or enhancing - Radicle’s tooling
Most of the grant work is for Widelens’ product. This begs a few questions: Why should this be entirely funded by Radicle? How will this work be sustainable after grant funding runs out? Radicle’s Drip product (link here) might actually help you find a sustainable way to fund this work. The key is: you’ll need to build a Community that finds value in it.
If either of these 3 points could be addressed, we might be interested in funding some of this grant. But we would not want to fund 100% of it as is.
