Very excited to see this proposal live on the forum! I’ve been participating in the DAOstar One roundtable over the last couple of months and have been very excited about the work being done. I believe the leading team & participants are some of the most reputable contributors to the DAO ecosystem.
I think co-funding this proposal would benefit the Radicle ecosystem in many ways:
-
At its core, Radicle is a DAO. While pools of centralization still exist (e.g. reliance on the Foundation), a clear objective of the Radicle community is to continue increasing decentralization by moving more and more responsibilities to the DAO. As an established “Ethereum DAO” it’s important for us to keep our DAO developing alongside of the greater ecosystem to ensure maximum interoperability and legibility. At the end of the day, we’re all building on each other’s tech so coordinating as an “industry” strengthens the resilience of our own ecosystem.

As @thelastjosh mentioned, this is also a prime opportunity to continue seeking product-market fit within the DAO tooling space. We’ve mused on the idea of Radicle identities being a powerful primitive for establishing a sovereign developer identity and many have expressed interest in tying Radicle into their DAO workflows (e.g. funding contributors based on Radicle contributions). @nas has started attending the Identity Working Group to continue exploring this thread. There’s also potential for exploring more uses or integrations for Radicle Orgs.

As we continue to decentralize the project, all project development will transition to be funded via the Radicle Treasury, aka the RadicleDAO. In this process, I predict we’ll see the emergence of a network of “subDAOs” representing ecosystem development teams & contributors, each with their own operating structure & governance process. Standardizing DAO membership and behavior will be key to supporting an interoperable & diverse network of “squads” that could all using different mechanisms to coordinate.
I strongly support this grant and would be excited for our continued collaboration with the DAOstar One project
