Drips Community Update - July 2022

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to share the monthly update from the Drips team for July. The big update this month is that the first release candidate for Drips v0.2 is live on the Goerli testnet! Big shout out to @igor for pushing so hard on the smart contracts and related tooling to get this release live. We expect to follow the same pattern as we did with Drips v0.1 where we will deploy a series of release candidates to testnet until we have one that we feel is good enough for a mainnet release. So stay tuned for updates on more testnet deployments over the coming weeks!

Progress This Month

  • Release candidate 1 of the Drips v0.2 smart contracts is live on the Goerli testnet. Details can be found here.

  • Meanwhile, back in Drips v0.1 land, @jtourkos has made some major improvements to the Drips v0.1 SDK, with help from Json from the Workstreams team, and has also started development on the v0.2 SDK.

  • Because of the significant differences between Drips v0.1 and v0.2, we’ve decided to do a whole separate landing page and docs site for Drips v0.2. @everett has started development on the landing page, and a first (very lean) version of the v0.2 docs can be found here.

  • With so much happening in the space of web3 streaming solutions right now, we’ve also also done a lot of “product”-related research and thinking as a team, with help from our friends on the Growth team. Thanks so much to @matto, Lucas and @nas for all of the invaluable insights and connections to the other amazing teams in the space.

Next Up

  • More smart contract release candidates! Maybe even one this week if we can make the switch to Foundry

  • First version of the v0.2 SDK.

  • First version of the v0.2 subgraph.

  • First version of the v0.2 landing page for the web site.

  • More security audit work.

  • There are a couple more important features we hope to finish building into v0.2, including “High-Precision Drips”, “Instantly-Collectable Drips” and “Uniform Drip Balances”. Fingers crossed we can get these in!
