Project Overview

Overview:
Community and ecosystem dashboard that aggregates Radicle news, on-chain data, social media, dev resources and much more into one customizable UI.

We’ve been followers and fans of Radicle for a long time and its decentralized infrastructure resonates with us since we’ve been trying to build and deploy web3 products for the last 5 years. Our product, Alphaday, will aggregate all the information across the Radicle ecosystem into one easy-to-use dashboard so we’re pretty excited to be able to contribute to this ecosystem and its large community.

Team’s experience

I’ve been involved in the Ethereum space since early 2016 and joined Kyber Network in 2017 as Head of Ecosystem Growth before quitting to start Alphaday full-time in 2021. Previously I worked at Thomson Reuters for a decade building financial products that rivaled the Bloomberg Terminal. I am currently also a Venture Partner at IOSG.VC.

My co-founder Felipe has also been involved in Ethereum since 2016 and was a Developer Advocate at Pegasys and Consensys before quitting to work full time on Alphaday.

Alphaday’s third co-founder is DeFiDude who used to be a community manager at both Aave and Kyber Network before co-founding Alphaday.

Project Description

Market research we conducted in 2021 concluded that crypto users are overwhelmed with information and spend a lot of time jumping from one news source to another, from one social site to another, and usually have dozens of tabs open to stay up to date with everything happening in a community.

Our dashboard aims to provide a single end-point from which users can consume all the information on a project they could possibly want. In this case, we would like to build a Radicle Community Dashboard that aggregates all the discussions, talking points, narratives, events, metrics, official announcements and much much more into one single dashboard. With one glance at this dashboard Radicle community members would have a top-down view of what is happening across the entire Radicle ecosystem. From this view they could then jump deeper into their areas of interest (i.e. devs to dev documentation, RAD holders to twitter and reddit discussions, investors to on-chain metrics across both Radicle’s own pages and to third-party data providers).

Deliverables

Total Estimated Duration: 8 weeks for initial development and deployment, 52 weeks of daily maintenance and curation.

Full-time equivalent (FTE): 0.5

Total Costs: 2,400 USDC

Milestone 1:
Estimated Duration: 8 weeks
FTE: 0.3
Costs: 1,200 USDC

Deliverables:

We would like to create a Radicle ecosystem dashboard that aggregates the following information into a single community dashboard:

  1. The latest Radicle official announcements and blog post content
  2. A feed of all news mentions of Radicle from coindesk, cointelegraph and 20+ other news sources aggregated from across the internet
  3. A calendar containing all Radicle events including Radicle Governance votes, meetups, hackathons with Radicle bounties, AMAs.
  4. Podcast feed containing the latest appearances and interviews given by Radicle team members.
  5. Youtube stream containing educational Radicle content.
  6. Radicle Document directory.
  7. Integration with Radicle Forum to show the latest and trending discussion topics.
  8. Twitter, Discord & Telegram Integration to show a feed of latest discussions.
  9. FAQ & RAD tokenomics information.
  10. Radicle metrics including RAD holders over time, Dex volume, and other metrics pulled in from Dune Analytics.

Milestone 2:
Estimated Duration: 52 weeks
FTE: 0.2
Costs: 1,200 USDC (100 USDC/month)

Deliverables:

12 months for maintenance including having an Alphaday content analyst quality-checking the dashboard every day and ensuring the Calendar widget is up-to-date with latest Radicle events, all news mentions across the internet are captured by the dashboard, any updates not automatically captured by the Alphaday aggregator engine is manually added to the board, and other maintenance tasks.

Future Plans

Additional funding for continued maintenance may be required once the initial 52 weeks come to an end.

Future milestones can include building direct integration with the Radicle app so users can directly interact with the radicle app straight from the Alphaday dashboard.

Additional Information:

How did you hear about the Grants Program? We found it via online research.

Our product is already live in Beta version at app.alphaday.com.

We are in the process of applying for grants to further develop our app and dashboard. Some projects (like Aave and Dfinity) have already approved to fund us and are currently building dashboards for them.

This seems like it’s mostly useful for those interested in DeFi, specifically trading.

How might this help a software developer or someone interested in the Radicle ecosystem?

Hello @bordumb, thank you for your question and please excuse the late response as we’ve been busy building new features.

Our dashboard can be modified to also be a guide to developers. For instance, we can offer dev-guidance tools within a widget to make it easier for them to find resources. This directory can include bounties, tutorials, or documents that may be of help to devs.
Another example is our hiring directory, where devs can look for jobs offered by Radicle that interest them.
There are many more widgets that we offer to aid developers as well as any stakeholder surrounding the Radicle Ecosystem. To get more details on what else we can readily offer, please take a quick look at our widget library at https://app.alphaday.com/ (Widgets - Top right of screen).

Hi @bordumb I wanted to follow up on the above and see if there’s any interest to proceed with the grant. Tnx!
